Marco Marinoni (10/04/1974) is a professor at the Conservatory of Music “G. Verdi” of Como where he teaches Electroacoustic Performance Practice. He gained a M. Mus. Conservatory Degree in Computer Music (2007) 10/10 cum laude, a Master’s Degree in Sound Direction and Live-Electronics at the Conservatory of Music “B. Marcello” of Venice (2007), 110/110 cum laude with Alvise Vidolin and a Master’s Degree in Composition (2013), 110/110 cum laude. He studied music composition with Mario Garuti. He was finalist for the Internatioanl Gaudeamus Composers Competition 2002 and 2003, Prix du Trivium at the 29e Concours International de Musique et d'Art Sonore Electroacoustiques – Bourges 2002, selected for the project What’s Next by Nuova Consonanza – Rome 2003, winner at the second call for electroacoustic music by Federazione CEMAT and included the CD Punti di Ascolto 2005, 1st Prize at the Primo Concorso Internazionale di Composizione per Iperviolino – Genova 2007, 1st Prize at the VIII Concorso Internazionale di Composizione Città di Udine – 2010. He is a member of SIMC - Società Italiana Musica Contemporanea. The scores of his pieces are published by ArsPublica and Taukay.

On January 29, he organized the electronic part of the concert dedicated to the Day of Remembrance, in Venice. Selected for the Festival Spaziomusica Summer of Cagliari and Festival Miniere Sonore in Oristano. He participated as a composer and performer of live-electronics in the realization of La Signora del Labirinto, a production of the Conservatory of Venice that was performed inside the Basilica dei Frari in Venice. In November he organized the electronic part of the Festival Camino Contro Corrente, within which it was performed his piece Io So, dedicated to a famous article by Pier Paolo Pasolini. The piece Non Consumiamo Cage, written with five other composers, was selected and performed within the XIX CIM Colloquium on Musical Informatics.
His piece Sette variazioni nel cuore dell'enigma was performed in the Sale Apollinee of the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, by the flutist Cecilia Vendrasco in the season A.G.I.M.U.S. His piece Ad altri i suoi lumi was performed at the Center Candiani in Mestre by percussionist Guido Facchin and harpist Patrizia Boniolo. His piece Il grifo nelle perle nere was included in the Festival Compositori a Confronto 2011 - Reggio Emilia and in the Maratona Contemporanea for the Quarantennale del Pareggiamento ai Conservatori di Stato. His piece for hyperviolin Dalla Sua Orbita was selected for the conference SMC - 8th Sound and Music Computing Conference. In the autumn of 2011 he took part in the conference EUROMAC VII - VII European Music Analysis Conference - Rome with a presentation on Post-Prae-Ludium per Donau by Luigi Nono. His opera written with 10 other composers Privo Sarò del Cielo e de l'Inferno was performed Sept. 29 in Venice in the 55th. International Festival of Contemporary Music La Biennale di Venezia in which was also included his piece Sfinge for violin and live electronics, selected for the Atelier Ircam.
First Prize at the International Composition Competition Città di Udine - VIII Edition with the piece Del Vuoto Incanto for string quartet and electronics. His piece Black Drop for orchestra and live electronics was a committee of the Conservatory "B. Marcello" in Venice, event included in Don Giovanni a Venezia - Opera Labirinto brainchild of Luca Francesconi and was performed between 23 and 25 September 2010 in the 54. International Festival of Contemporary Music La Biennale di Venezia. He participated in the XVIII CIM - Colloquium on Musical Informatics with a speech and analytical. His piece Dissection for violin, live-electronics and video was performed within the project SAMPL (Sound and Music Processing Lab) - Padova, October 2010.
His piece Il grifo nelle perle nere for piano and hypersampler was selected for the Second International Festival of Electroacoustic Music EMUFEST of S. Cecilia - Rome. He took part in the Seventh Conference Analitica - GATM.
His piece Il grifo nelle perle nere for piano and hypersampler was selected for the Concerto per Ipertastiere organized by AIMI on the occasion of the XVII CIM Colloquium on Musical Informatics and performed in the 52. International Festival of Contemporary Music La Biennale di Venezia. His article Atomi Distratti was included in the Proceedings of the XVII CIM Colloquium of Musical Informatics. The piece To Walk The Night was selected for the First International Festival of Electroacoustic Music EMUFEST of S. Cecilia - Rome.
First prize at the First Composition Competition for Hyperviolin with the piece Dalla Sua Orbita that was performed inside the Paganiniana Festival 2007 - Genoa. His piece for cello and electronics Friction was a committee of the Festival Traiettorie 07 - Parma.
His piece for piano and live electronics Wahn was selected to the Second Call of electroacoustic works organized by Federation CEMAT and included on the CD Punti di Ascolto 2005 distributed by Editions Auditorium - Milan. His piece Dove La Luce got a mention in the same call.
Selected for the workshops of the Centre Acanthes.
Finalist of the International Gaudeamus Composition Prize with the piece To Walk the Night for ensemble and electronics. He was one of the composers selected for the project What's Next and his string trio La Materia Oscura was performed at the Festival di Nuova Consonanza - Rome. His piece Of shape and action III - In the blinded room was performed within the XIV CIM Colloquium on Musical Informatics.
Finalist of the International Gaudeamus Composition Prize with the piece Blank Spell for string quartet and electronics. For the piece To Walk the Night he received the prestigious Prix du Trivium in the 29th Concours International de Musique et d'Art Sonore Electroacoustiques - Bourges 2002.
His article Intension und komplexitat in Mario Garutis Quantunque appeared on the pages of Musik & Aesthetik (Heft 18, April 2001). Honorable Mention at National Competition for Composition for trio - quartet - quintet by Rotary Club, Cremona - 75th Anniversary for the piece Luce Nera.
His compositions have been broadcast by a total of 33 stations, including France 2 and RAI Radio3 in 22 countries and published by Mnemosyne Musique Média - Bourges, Aliamusica - Parma and Auditorium - Milan.
